MASTERING

Digital  CD  l  Vinyl  l  Cassette Tape

We specialize in providing high fidelity music mastering services to local and remote artists at affordable rates.

We offer a free sample for new clients, and provide a file sharing link for our customers to easily transfer and change files. An experienced engineer is crucial when mixing or mastering, however, what truly gives music its heart is creativity and soul. Our Engineers have designed an easy to follow workflow, from file submission to release so every artist can focus on being an artist and creating their sound. With open communication every client can be as involved as they choose and in full control. Detail leads us to go above and beyond to meet the needs of our clients and their recordings.

Personal attention and service to each individual artist or project is what makes our studio stand out among the rest. Masters are forever. If you have not already mixed the song with us, please tell us about your goals so we can discuss the mix and the best approach for your body of work.
When Mastering for Podcast, Dialogue and Video, mastering is offered in our mix packages.
When Mastering for music, it involves a separate process to handle the dynamics of a musical composition for not just audible pleasure, but to format for each type of master.
In todays medium of digital music platforms, most of our clients order Digital / CD versions to be able to upload to music distribution, but we offer Vinyl & Cassette Tape mastering as well.

Mastering Service $50  l  Additional Mastering Service +$25

In most cases, our clients order masters for Digital outputs / CD print, than add Vinyl masters and/or Cassette Tape masters as add on services. Music Mastering rates are pretty straight forward. There is no set order and no limit to revisions. If you're not sure which services you need or the depth to each, contact us so we can recommend a path

SUBMITTING MIXES

Dialogue/Speech

Vocals should not clip and generally sit well below any clipping levels, please do not limit or normalize.

Music

Please send mixes with headroom. The very best case is between -3db and -6db. As long as it is not clipping, we can work with it. If it is clipping, you will likely need our restoration services. Depending on how bad, it may or may not be possible to fix. If it's not possible to fix, we can offer our mixing services if you have the original session, or even go as far as to help re-record anything needed.

Mix or Stems?

No absolute preference. We work with both, but sending in stems must be kept to approx 3 stems. If you have 5 or more stems, you need your song mixed and should look into our mixing services. If you're mixing and mastering with us, you won't have to worry about submitting you mix and depending on needs may be able to bundle services for a better overall rate.

Plug-ins

Please make sure you send files with no limiting. We generally work with how ever an engineer sends the mix, and can make suggestions, but the one plugin that can really effect the master is a limiter used on the entire mix too early. If it's necessary for your sound, we will work with it, but outside of limiting on tracks and groups, it's best to do it in mastering and not on the overall mix until last.

Panning

How it comes is more or less how it will be. If you have an instrument panned hard to the left, it will also be panned to the left in the master. If you feel the mix needs audio restoration, let us know and we will have you first visit our restoration service. What can be done will entirely depend on how busy the project is with other sounds.

Reference Mixes

Send up to 3 reference masters. This is optional, but we're happy to use any preferred masters as reference from our clients. Typically sent examples are favorite songs, previous projects or comparable projects.

If you have any questions, please contact us so we can help.
